Srinagar, Nov 20 (KNO): The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department Kashmir on Thursday said the valley is fully geared up for winter, with advance dumping of ration and LPG already completed across all districts.
Deputy Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Kashmir, Arjumand Yaqoob, speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that as part of the department’s winter preparedness plan, four months of ration stock have been dumped in advance across the valley.
“We had set November 31 as the deadline, but this year we are ahead of schedule. Four months of rations have already been dumped across all districts,” she said.
Arjumand said LPG supplies are being stocked in border and far-flung areas in line with winter requirements. “In areas like Bandipora, Gurez, Kupwara, Tangdar and Machil, the dumping process is ongoing and progressing smoothly,” she said.
The Deputy Director further informed that there are 893 designated dumping stations across Kashmir where winter stocks have been placed to ensure uninterrupted supply during snowfall and road closures.
“Our winter preparations are complete, and there is no need for the public to panic. District officers remain available 24×7, and people facing any issue regarding ration or LPG can directly contact them,” she said—(KNO)
